About 20 percent of adults with type 1 or type 2 experience some degree of sexual dysfunction, says Lois Jovanovic, M.D., clinical professor of medicine at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles and CEO of the Sansum Diabetes Research Institute in Santa Barbara. It turns out, women have more problems than men—about 30 percent for women, 15 to 20 percent for men. Here’s what you need to know about diabetes and sexual health.
